This August my teenaged daughter and I had the extreme luck to get a room at Abbys Garden. We made a last minute decision to take a ferry to St. Pierre and wanted to stay close to Fortune the night before. The Garden was in full bloom while we were there. Ive never seen hostas that big. The hydrangeas were stunning and the whole yard was nothing short of spectacular. The chicken coop at the end of the yard also added significantly to the entire experience. While we didnt participate because we had to be up early, the hosts have a bonefire each night for any guests who are interested. Donna greeted us quickly and showed us to our room. We stayed in the ocean view loft. This is one of two rooms overtop of a workshop. The room was beautiful. While Ive read the view is spectacular I wasnt actually able to find the ocean through the trees but that was ok because the property provided a feeling of being very remote in spite of being only a few hundred yards from the highway. It was tranquil and quiet with a very country cottage homey feeling with a great deck. There were also laundry facilities on the same floor and the hosts provided coffee, cream, tea, and an assortment of pop. For my daughter (and me too) the highlight was Bruces delivery of warm homemade cinnamon buns as an unexpected bed time treat. This should not however be undermined by the full breakfast he prepared the following day. Yogurt, fruit salad, fresh eggs, bacon, pancakes, juice, tea and coffee were all made inside the hosts home, only a few feet away on the same property. We got very lucky that Abbys Garden had a last minute cancellation because I believe this property is often full. I would book again in a minute and also use it as a landing point for other things to do and see in the Burnin peninsula. The downside is that the bar has been lifted for my daughter in regards to future accommodations when we travel, and I think it may be tough to reach

My family stayed here before we travelled to Saint Pierre. I wish we had stayed for more nights! Bruce created a beautiful breakfast for us. Donna and Bruce are such lovely hosts. Donna is a wealth of information. We made reservations by phone. I'm so glad we did! She filled us in on the area and what to expect. The location is perfect, a view of the water, a hiking trail, an evening fire, gardens, bird feeders, lots of nature; spectacular. The rooms are clean and cozy. I loved the goats milk soap so much I brought it home.

Beautiful B&B just outside Grand Bank. Delicious and affordable breakfast. Highly recommended.

Lovely place run by lovely people who deliver great service!

The grounds are beautiful. The hosts are fantastic. The food is excellent.
